Transportation
Thanks to Japan’s efficient transportation system, getting to Takamatsu is very easy. Start your adventure by hopping on the Shinkansen bullet train from major cities like Tokyo or Osaka. The JR Kansai Wide Pass covers the city and allows unlimited rides in the Kansai area. Takamatsu Kagawa Station is also the starting station of the sleeper train Sunrise Seto, which leaves the city at 9 PM and arrives in Tokyo the following morning. Riding the Sunrise Seto is a lot of fun, and I recommend spending a night aboard!
After a comfortable journey, you’ll arrive at Takamatsu Station, ready to explore. Once in the city, getting around is a breeze with buses, trains, or bicycles available for rent. With these convenient options, you’ll be free to explore Takamatsu at your own pace, without the hassle of navigating unfamiliar streets.

- Ritsurin Garden: Begin your exploration of Takamatsu with a visit to Ritsurin Garden, a tranquil oasis in the heart of the city.
